El próximo 6 de julio la Fundación Cartier de París consagrará una muestra íntegra a la serie «Cherry Blossons», una de las consecuencias de su reciente retorno a la creación. A través de estos «Cerezos en flor», Hirst ha querido apartarse del universo rígido y minimalista de las «Spot Paintings» para adentrarse en el caos de la naturaleza. Como él mismo señala, los «Cerezos en flor» tratan sobre la vida y los angeles muerte, además de sobre la belleza y el mal gusto. Estos dos temas constituyen, en esencia, el eje sobre el que se ha desarrollado la entera producción del autor, y a los que, a partir de presupuestos estéticos diferentes, ha vuelto de nuevo con el fin de reconducir y represtigiar su depauperada marca artística. Es indudable los cuales el Hirst actual prioriza paradigmas estéticos más decorativos y complacientes que los que guiaron sus primeros trabajos. Pero, al menos, demuestra que vuelve a gozar con el arte.

Los angeles serie cuenta con lugar cientos de años después, donde los humanos han estado sin vista se han adaptado a la nueva circunstancias. Jason Momoa y Alfre Woodard daughter los protagonistas. Samuel L. Jackson encarna a Ptolemy Grey, un hombre enfermo al que su familia, sus amigos, e incluso él mismo, han olvidado.
